The Works: Samplers and Case Studies

Below are some samplers and case studies of my recent work. They might take a moment to load. Some were completed for clients of collaborating design firms, others for personal clients.

Omnivore

Ominvore pretty much sums up my philosophy on design.

The answer is yes

The inspiration for this poster is pretty personal. After being joined at the hip with the lovely Krista for roughly 7 years, I finally got round to begging proposing.

Fontessa

Inspired (loosely) by the Modern Jazz Quartet album.

Viva

The poster is one of a few mocks I did for a gig in my hometown, Canberra. The layers, patterns and progression of electronic music was a big inspiration. A little interstellar, a little saturated.

Luna / Sol

A bit of typographical experimentation.

Love problems like ice cream

I heard this saying in a lecture from a Buddhist nun. If you can do it, I think embracing problems as though they’re a treat is a great way to approach work and life, especially in the field of design.

Life Experience

This is another personal poster designed through a particularly tough bout of homesickness whilst working in Japan. I think it would make an awesome book cover. In the end, I felt better concluding that a full life is full of experiences, good and bad.

It’s true, grids are good for the soul. This is a poster for the World Wide Web Conference 2009, to be held in Madrid, Spain.

"We have used Rob's design and coding services on a number of client jobs, and have never failed to be impressed. Rob has the rare ability to give you a timeline that he actually adheres to. His work is outstanding. In 3 years we have only ever used 2 external designers on a consistent basis, and Rob was one of them. Enough said!"
